SIRP allows you to import assets in Bulk, by uploading an Excel file with the details of all of your assets.

Uploading Assets

Note: The formatting of the template should not change in any way. Not all fields in the asset inventory list are mandatory, but it is recommended that the following fields at the very least should be filled:

  • Name

  • IP

  • Hostname

  • Asset Type

  • Asset Type Value

  • Asset Category

  • Product

  • Vendor

The entries in the Asset Type, Asset Value, and Asset Category fields are supposed to be concurrent with the same defined in Administration.

This Excel can be uploaded through the following steps:

  • Click on the Import Asset button, in the upper right corner of the Assets module

  • Download the Asset Inventory template.

  • Fill in the Asset Inventory Template and once it is complete, click Import > Upload Document >Import.

  • Once the file is uploaded, the page will then switch to the field mapping page.

Mapping the Fields

Field mapping is a one-time activity when uploading assets in bulk.

  • First, click on the + sign to define a new template for mapping. And click Save after giving the template a name. Now we can proceed with the mapping.

  • Use the search bar on the left-hand side to find the fields that need to be mapped.

  • When the field is clicked on (in red), it appears in the text box above. Click the Copy button (in red) and copy the field into the form on the left into its respective text box (in yellow)

  • Repeat the same process for other fields that need to be mapped.

  • Once the mapping is complete, click Save. A Template Saved message should appear. If there is an error, recheck to asset form for any required fields that may be missing.

  • After saving the template, click Import.

Back on the Import Jobs page, once the import has been marked as completed, your assets should appear in the Assets list.
